We asked our Club Manager Claire Murray how she lost weight, toned up and changed her life through exercise and lifestyle changes.
Claire lost an incredible 14 stone. Here’s her story…
I remember sitting thinking how do I do this?
I would sit there so many stereotypical Mondayβs and think right, this is it.
I am going to go to the gym.
I am going to change my eating habits.
I am going to be skinny.
Every time this failed.
You see, first of all fitness and lifestyle changes are a journey and new habits and behaviours need to be learned.
This wonβt happen overnight. Humans are creatures of habit and we donβt like change.
Only when you truly believe in your goal and what you want to achieve will life start opening doors for you.
The next important thing to remember, and this is a very valid point. You ARE at some points going to fail or not hit a milestone when you want to.
No one, none of the greats in life have got to where they are without failing first.
The difference is, those failures I came against I used to fuel my passion and learn from. I was doing this for me and no one else.
Being over weight is not an easy place to be at 126kg. You think, “Where am I going to go from here?”
This is where the mindset kicks in. What the mind says, the body follows. You have to believe in yourself.
Your health is an investment. Itβs about your own selfβworth and you becoming the person you truly deserve to be.
Itβs about being strong and confident and healthy and living your dreams. You have to accept you will need to work hard, you have to accept it will take time but most of all you have to accept that your in control and no one else.
So go out there and get moving a little more, create a small calories deficit and start building the new you. Your future self will thank you for it. I know mine did.
Special thanks to Claire for letting us share her story here. We are super proud of her achievements, her incredibly positive outlook and seeing her now encouraging others to make postivie changes in her role as club manager lifts our spirits.
