It’s no secret that at Anytime Fitness, we believe that your resolutions or goals shouldn’t be labelled with a timeframe or be tied to a time of year.
Goals are personal to the individual and nothing makes our teams prouder than celebrating our members’ progress and giving that extra bit of support and guidance whenever they need it.
We understand that achieving your goals isn’t always a straight line and there can be challenges along the way that can affect your motivation or mean you’re not as active as maybe you’d like to be.
We’re here to help and if you feel like you need a bit of a boost, we’ve put together our top tips on how to keep up your fitness motivation:
- Celebrate the wins – any amount of progress is a reason to be proud of yourself and keep going. Whether it’s running that little bit longer, feeling more comfortable in your surroundings or preparing more healthy meals than you have before, all of these represent fantastic progress from when you started. Although you may not have achieved your overall goal yet, you can find motivation from what you’ve achieved so far
- Track your workouts – keeping a log of your workouts is a great way to stay motivated and see how you’re improving. Whether that’s a trusty notepad or the notes on your phone, keeping track of your exercises can show you if you’re lifting that little bit heavier or pushing out that extra rep or two. This will give a great indication that you’re moving in the right direction
- Bring a friend along – a great way to keep up your motivation is to bring a friend or family member on the journey with you. Having a friend exercising with you can help you feel accountable and even more important than that, makes your workouts more fun! All our members get a free guest pass to give you the chance to show your friends exactly what Anytime Fitness is all about!
- Speak to a coach – it’s natural to feel like you want to mix up your workouts and try something new. If there’s ever a piece of equipment or new exercise that you want to try, speak to one of the team in the gym who can give you some great guidance and advice. Adding something new or some extra variety to your workout can help give you a huge boost and keep your motivation going
- Never be hard on yourself – the last and arguably the most important tip is to be kind to yourself. It’s completely normal that there will be days that you’re just not feeling it or a social commitment with friends means you have a meal or two to treat yourself. Having balance in your life is key to keeping your motivation and as long as you get back into your routine as soon as you’re able to, your goals won’t be compromised
We hope this has helped you find that extra dose of motivation that you’re looking for. Keep reminding yourself why you’re doing it and celebrate just how far you’ve come already – we’re with you every step of the way!
